Floods, snakes, and LUSH OH MY

ahoi everybody
I SUUUUUUCK
I haven't blogged in like a century! I've been looking at everyones blogs and you have all done at least 4 posts since Christmas, I feel so bad.
So this will  be a (moderately) HUGE (note the enlarging of the word trick eh?) post

Ok so first of all, i would like to thank all of you who commented on my last post, thank thank thank you for the sweet comments about my dad, he was so touched, and so was I :)

Christmas was amaziiiiiiiiiiiiing, twas great. And so was the beginning of the new year! I actually stayed awake throughout the whole countdown and beyond, and I even had the chance for some cheesy New Year jokes

Me: Happy New Year!!!
Everyone: Yeah!!!
Me: Hey guess what?
Everyone:.....What?
Me: You are all hobos!
Everyone:....um why?
Me: Because *cue drum roll* you have all been wearing these clothes since last year!!!!!!

And then we all toasted to our new found hobo-ness

So how has everyone been? Good hopefully :) I'm so zealous you all have snow! All we have in Australia is rain, rain, rain, floods, and rain

Speaking of, all this rain has become really serious, it's no longer a EHMAGAWD ITS RAINING MY HAIR IS RUINED!!! BEAN GET INSIDE THE HOUSE NOW! DON'T PLAY WITH TODD! (just a little clique-ness for you all :p)

But the rain has turned into full on flood-landia...for example about 20 minutes from where I live a flash flood killed about 12 people, and now over 72 people are missing! (This was yesterday so I don't even know where we stand today) 4 of the deaths were little kids.

oh yeah a SNAKE in the FLOODS

a kangaroo!

I know this is all really depressing and all, but it makes me so sad, I was almost crying yesterday when I heard the news, I mean it's a brand new year, and then BAM it floods, thankfully, none of our friends have been affected, the worst that has happened to them and to us is a flooded road or a blocked off highway or a water in the storage room, there's grossness everywhere, snakes in the river (one guy found 1000 SNAKES in his house)
It's a really sad subject, on top of the shooting in Arizona (thanks Jen for the post on that) 2011 is not off to a brilliant start...
So I'm asking all you fellow bloggers, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE you can help, you can donate a small amount (or a large whatever) at this link or (I'm not quite sure how this works I'm just getting it off the site) you can donate by Internet banking:

 Account Name: Premiers Disaster Relief Appeal
BSB: 064 013
Account number: 1000 6800
SWIFT code for international donations: CTBAAU2S
Once your transaction is complete, you should record the receipt number for your transaction. If you do not receive a receipt number, contact your financial institution.
You can find all this info here
If you do donate you would change the life of someone who has lost everything, some people had to spend an entire night in the freezing rain on their roof, because the water had reached that high...it's just sad :(
You don't even have to donate much :) If you donate $2 and 100 people donate the same that's $200 for food, water, medication, pet food, clothes and blankets
Just think about it, you can change someones life for the better when it has already changed for the worst.
~~~~~~~~~
Ok on a more happier note, school is starting soon (in Australia anyways)!!! (yeah I just got how that cannot be happy, whatever) but I've been looking around for some DIY back to school ideas and there's nothing, so I will make a future post about that, unless you guys want something else? Please comment in you want me to write about something YOU like :)
So yeah...OH I emailed Lush yesterday...I got their Therapy Massage Bar for Christmas and I LUH-VE it, it smells like Jaffas! So I emailed them asking them about making it into a solid perfume...I WOULD LOVE IF THEY DID OMSJDFHJKDFGBKJASBDFHGSFKJAHSFISBD
hem
Heey Lush!
I just wanted to tell you guys that you are awesome :) I'm so happy that I discovered you on that dark and rainy day...I also love how a tonne of your products are vegan, being a vegetarian this makes me really happy, and every time I use your products it makes me feel like I'm making a difference :)
One of my absolutely favourite Lush product is the Therapy Massage bar, I use it every single day, no kidding; it also links to my favourite sweet ever, Jaffas (the little chocolate and orange balls)! And it smells absolutely divine, sometimes I would just sit there and sniff my arm, because it smells so yummy :p
But the thing is that with me using it every day its starting to become more and more smaller but I adore the scent to I can't stop~
I was wondering if you guys could make it into a solid perfume, that would be so awesome, when I'm at school I want to just smell that sweet little scent and just relax...but I can't take Therapy to school, because she'll melt :(
Pleaseeeeee, I'm begging you, make it into a solid perfume, like Vanillary was made into a whole range as was Karma...
If you did that I would buy like a bazillion of these perfumes so I can always have one with me wherever I go.
Once again, please consider this because it would make me so happy, like really really happy, even happier than when I smelt Therapy for the very first time, which was like SUPER happy.
Thanks again for being so awesome Lush!
Caroline
p.s. who writes all the reviews in the Lush Times? I read them over and over and over again! Can anyone write for them?? :D
also how can I get the Lush Times sent to me (email? or post?)? I live 4 hours away from the closest Lush store and I can't live without my Lush updates :)
A great email right?
I'm so mad Lush doesn't franchise, I have to order stuff off the Internet and it's not the sameeeeee
which gives me the idea, imma do a (yer you like that gangsta speech right there?) lush post!!! I LOVE LUSH!!! And so does a fellow blogger(s) Madeline and Sophie!
Also Marg (I just found your blog!) I agree on the whole power-point thing, I'd rather do an essay...though I don't mind public speaking lol, and your blog just got cooler because you have the same bird background that I have!
And Francesca I really loved your post :) I got Shakespeare's Sonnet book for Christmas, and when I read your poem I was reminded so much of them...
these are all from YouTube...the editing of the videos is kinda funny, and the acting cracks me up!!!
I also reallyyyyy want that new Vogue magazine with Emma Watson on it, but that would be breaking my New
Years resolution (I vowed not too buy to many magazines this year)
So yes, that's it, I'm going to try and post more often, PROMISE!!!!
oh and I have been looking on everyones blogs and a lot of you have '30 snapshots of love' or '67 words of wisdom' instead of '45 comments' can you pleaseeee tell me how to do that??? Just leave it in the comments :) PLEASE <3
LOVE!
Cxxxx
Yes, we too are Lush-aholics. I live minutes away from the mall and am far too often making the trek up to Lush, where I spend all of my money. Bad! Bad bad bad! But I seriously can't stop, I love lush way too much.
That's horrible about the flooding stuff, that happened where we live last year but not as bad, no crazy giant snakes but a bunch of people's houses flooded. And right now we're snowed in! Craziness!
